[VACANCY] Sales Management Position

The purpose of this role is to manage and direct a targeted sales and relationship management strategy for Global Business Solutions Johannesburg. To actively seek to acquire and retain sustainable revenue streams. Acquires, develops and maintains client relationships and to facilitate the same process with team members.  The successful incumbent is required to engage with Operations to ensure that the value chain is effectively delivered.


  • Develop and implement marketing and sales strategies for the JHB region to meet organizational objectives
  • Coordinating the marketing efforts of the team for both public and in-house training courses in the JHB region and to ensure that customers feel valued and will regard the organisation as their provider of choice for future training interventions
  • Conducting marketing, advertising and promotional activities to increase the number of delegates for our public courses and in-house
  • Expand the organisation’s customer base in the JHB region through own efforts as well as that of the team members

  • Understands the features, benefits and critical differentiators of the Global Business service offering compares to competitor offerings
  • Conceptual understanding of the strategic intent and direction of the Company and how the sales management portfolio contributes towards the company’s objectives


  • Influences client value proposition strategies and manages the implementation of appropriate client engagement tactics through the management of team members and own client base
  • Develops and manages the strategic alignment of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and processes to keep track of client preferences
  • Translates and manages the implementation of client loyalty methodologies to optimise the retention of high-value clients in the portfolio
  • Facilitates the correct customer needs analysis process of the team to package service offerings to maximise client revenues

  • Proactively seeks to establish and maintain collaborative, cross-functional relationships and strategic alliance partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen strategic synergies, good co-operative working relations, and the Global Business Solutions brand

  1. Draft marketing plan and ensure all dates are adhered to and all actions/activities implemented
  2. Draft budget for all products within your region and ensure this is adhered to, where appropriate
  3. Ensure benchmark statistics set e.g. ROI are maintained and effected
  4. Develop and introduce other ad hoc mailings/projects, as and when they arise
  5. Continually sourcing new clients and opportunities to test
  6. Drive email swaps and test prices with list brokers/owners and other third parties
  7. Continually write and test new and exciting marketing copy for each event
  8. Ensure Quote protocol followed by team to ensure optimum prices
  9. Ensure all promotional material has been approved for regulatory purposes
  10. Source venues and facilitators for public and in-house workshops
  11. Manage social media sites (to be discussed)
  12. Keep accurate records of clients

Requirements for the position:

  • Tertiary Education and or industry sales/customer service and HR related industry experience
  • Ability to operate under solid pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • 4-6 Years’ experience in Sales/Marketing/Human Capital consulting/management essential
  • Proven track record in Strategic Relations and Key Account Sales and Management thereof
  • Excellent knowledge and proficiency in MS Office Skills (esp. Excel and PowerPoint)
