Labour Law Update – Fairness of Dismissal & Breach of Confidentiality
In a six-month period a business suffered considerable stock losses. Oone of the reasons identified for this was poor discipline. The managers warned employees that the disappearance of stock could have a bearing on annual salary increases. In September 2011 employees were told that they were not going to receive any wage increase. The situation was explained and no-one asked questions. The employees took their lunch boxes and left about 30 minutes later.
