Jonathan Goldberg appointed to NMW Commission

The 13 member NMWC has finally been appointed. The Chair will be Prof Adriaan van der Walt, a labour academic at NMMU. Jonathan Goldberg, CEO of Global Business Solutions, has been appointed for the business constituency and will continue to drive business interests in this important space.
 
The functions of the NMWC are critical in striking a balance between fair labour standards and business sustainability. An example of the critical role of the NMWC is that some unions are calling for the R205 433 threshold to be reviewed. Other functions of the NMWC will be to advise the Minister of Labour on reviewing the NMW and reporting on the impact of the provisions on the labour market and economy.
 
Jonathan Goldberg has been a business representative at NEDLAC for a number of years and is a highly valued member of the business leadership.
